May God's men and women win in May 2010

CANDIDATES IN THE MAY 2010 ELECTIONS, HERE IS AN ADMONITION FROM JESUS: Congratulations to the men and women who have been allowed by the Commission on Elections to run as president, vice president and as senators in the May 2010 elections. Our wish for each one of you is, may God’s men and women win!

For the sake of this country and our people, I am intensely praying, together with all other enlightened Christians, Catholics and other God-believing Filipinos, that the men and women who have the true fear and love of God, and who are therefore righteous before Him, should win.

If God’s people will not, once again, prevail in the May 2010 elections, we will see for certain greater destruction, more plunder and corruption, more abuses and disregard of what is right and just in the days to come, all of which will cause the ultimate obliteration of the Filipino race.

Finally, here is a reminder to those aspiring for any position in next year’s elections: the Lord Jesus Christ wants you, according to Mark 10:44-45 of the Bible, to be the servant of all.

TALL BUILDINGS AND BUSINESS REVERSES: Tom Dyson, writing for “Steve Sjuggerud’s Daily Wealth”, an Internet-based magazine, claims that heavy business reverses, demonstrated by stock market crashes, usually follow the construction of skyscrapers, or buildings trying to reach as far as the skies.

Dyson cited the examples of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building and the Great Depression in the United States, the Sears Tower and the 1973 two year decline in Dow, Malaysia’s Petronas Towers and the 1997 Malaysian 50% crash in its stock market, the Nasdaq’s MarketSite Tower and the December 1999 70% crash in Nasdaq composite, and the Enron skyscraper and its 2002 collapse.

Then, he writes about Dubai and the troubles it has found itself in while it is completing the Burj Dubai, as well as the Shanghai Tower and the Incheon Towers in South Korea and the Abraj Al-Bait Towers in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and the possible “skyscraper curse” that may also befall them.

I hope there is really no connection between tall buildings and business collapses and reverses, but then, in Genesis 11 of the Holy Bible, we are told of the story of the Tower of Babel, a structure intended by men to reach up to the sky, and God’s apparent dislike for anything that signifies man’s belief in himself alone.

FORTUNATO ABAT: “TO BIRTH A NATION”, PART III: The following is the third part of the concept paper written by former Defense Secretary Fortunato Abat, in which he is proposing the scuttling of the May 2010 elections and the establishment of a “transition government” which will rule the nation for the next two to three years:

“The offices of the President, Vice President, and Congress shall be suspended for the duration of the transition to give the transition government a chance to perform. Transitory measures. The transition is intended to reform present institutions of governance and clean the ills of the traditionally corrupt political system in a timeline of 2 to 3 years.

“A Constitutional Commission shall be constituted to amend the present Constitution as the Transition Constitution and draft a new Constitution for the ratification of the people within the timeline period.

“The major actors in the Transition Government shall not be eligible for candidacy in the initial election for the new Constitutional Government.

“II. Tasks of Transition: Proposed Immediate. Adopt a provisional constitution based on the present constitution to make transparent the composition, functions, and responsibilities of the Transition Government. Then direct the drafting of a new constitution to establish the legal basis for a new system of governance for ratification by the people. The Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa) may provide the core of a commission to draft the new constitution...”

ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY: The fourth “Glorious Mystery” in the Holy Rosary of the Roman Catholic Christians is the assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which deals with the taking up into heaven of Mary, body and soul.

Even among Christians though, this is a controversial issue, with many of the so-called believers outside of the Catholic faith insisting that the assumption of Mary into heaven did not happen.

But the teachings of Roman Catholic Christians point to the occurrence of the event, and Catholic popes and leaders from the 3rd century on actually cite many portions of the Bible to justify this belief.

In Wikipedia, an item on the assumption of Mary contains this explanation: “All these passages – John 14:3, Isaiah 60:13, Luke 1:28, Song of Songs 8:5, 1 Corinthians 15:21-26, Psalms 132:8, Psalms 45:9-17, Song of Songs 3:6, 4:8, 6:9, Genesis 3:15, and Revelation 12:1-2 – are drawn upon as Scriptural support of the Assumption both in that original document, and today by Catholic apologists.”

The prevailing thought is that these Biblical references show that Jesus would not have allowed His own mother to have died and her flesh to have degenerated to dust.

Also, considering Mary’s role in giving birth to the “seed” (Jesus) that will crush Satan, it is believed that the fate of Jesus in ascending to heaven body and soul is the same fate that happened to Mary.
